Preparing to Work in Childcare Course

This online course provides an in-depth introduction to working in childcare. It is ideal for students who are considering a career in this area but are not currently able to attend a college course. The course is also a good foundation for further study, building up your knowedge of key areas and giving you a head start for the future.

The course includes 6 modules and 6 assignments. Students are awarded a certificate of course completion on successfully passing all six assignments. Course material is sent through to your email inbox in a pdf format. The material can be printed off or saved to your computer for future reference and is yours to keep.

Each student is assigned a personal tutor who they can contact at any time. Your tutor will work with you throughout the course.

Subjects covered include: working as part of a team, science activities for young children, technology activities for young children, musical activities for young children, health and safety when working with young children, craft activities for young children, understanding play for early learning, sharing learning experiences with children, growth and development of young children, developing children’s self-esteem, children’s play and leisure activities in the community, supporting babies to play, healthy eating for families, learning and emotional development through play, and communicating with young children.
